On Wednesday, January 10, 2001, Jeremy Galton and his brother left their bikes on fire road to hike to the top of snow covered Fox Peak. Jeremy went ahead to the top. But when his brother got to the top, Jeremy was nowhere to be found. The Los Angeles Sheriff Search and Rescue teams conducted a search for Jeremy over the next two days. On Friday the call went out to the East Valley team along with teams from San Bernardino to relieve the LA teams. Search teams were flown to the ridge next to Fox Peak and began their search of the area from there. One of the search teams found tracks deep in a canyon to the north of Fox Peak. A LA Sheriff helicopter was directed down the canyon where they spotted Jeremy waving back at them. Jeremy was hoisted up to the helicopter and flown to a hospital for evaluation.
